Second Sunday of Lent with UPRISE & the 11th Work of Mercy – Comfort the Sorrowful

On this, the Second Sunday of Lent, how can we improve our abilities to really be there for one another, particularly in times of difficulty or sadness?  When we see or experience someone hurting, it may be someone we love, or it could be a complete stranger, our heart is moved by love of wanting to offer comfort…  We are inclined to want to ease their pain or burdens, and free them from what might be hurting.  By God’s grace alone, we have been given the gifts of the Holy Spirit to always share with others and help alleviate a person’s feelings of grief or distress.  We can respond, just like our historic father in faith, Abraham, and say, “Here I am!”
