Passion Sunday: Entering Holy Week

On this day we read Saint Luke’s gospel and recall once again Our Lord’s entrance into  Jerusalem to do His Father’s will – die to self, so we may all live.

So many UPRISE movement-makers have made this Lent a daily “dying to self,” out of love for others… the young women who’s grandmother is in her final, Hospice days, but staying close by her mother, who prepares to say goodbye to her mother…the family who’s daughter is on a year-long mission, missing her terribly but knowing with heavy heart she is doing God’s work…the friends who take a sorrowful friend who is moving out for tea and share hope and trust in God’s plans, brightening another’s day.  These are the acts of Catholic generosity, the acts of great mercy, entering into the life of another and walking the journey, however difficult.

How will you enter Holy Week this year?  With loving, generous abandonment to the will of our Father, like Jesus did?
