4th Sunday of Advent: Mary’s YES!

Christmas is nearly here!

On this the 4th Sunday of Advent, Our Blessed Mother was invited by God to face her pregnancy in faith. Her response was perfect, “Let it be done to me according to your word.” She could not explain nor understand what was happening but, nonetheless, she knew deep in her soul that God was in charge, as always leading all to His glory.

Mary is such a beautiful and inspiring model of Christian faith and obedience. She was obedient to the will of God despite the fact that the will of God drew her into an incredible and unfathomable mystery! Little did she know or fully understand at first that she was being invited to serve as a first-hand witnesses to the salvation of the world! Mary humbly embraced this mystery and accepted it in faith.

Can you take time today to reflect upon the personal invitations from God to embrace His mysteries of life? God’s ways are often more than we as humans can comprehend and figure out. Mary certainly give each of us her own witness of how we each can handle every mystery God invites us to participate in! Will you say yes to the will of God, just as Mary did?

Dearest Mother Mary and Saint Joseph, we pray for all those in the UPRISE movement that we may have the faith you lived. When questions arise in our hearts, help us to respond generously to God as you did. May each of us trust in all that God has spoken in imitation of you. Jesus, Mary, Joseph, I trust in You.
