Trusting God

One of our UPRISE sisters in Christ experienced recently a shocking claim…that the “homeless” man whom she had been helping over the past year was actually panhandling, not homeless, was on disability and wanted more cash to live on…she had purchased dinner for the man at a local shop across from where this man sat daily, begging. The shop owner tried to dissuade her from helping him with dinner as one of the shop owners best customers claimed to be the neighbor of this homeless man! Our UPRISE movement-maker was filled with so many emotions: disbelief, disappointment, betrayal, embarrassment for being hoodwinked…so our UPRISE sister took the matter into prayer and asked the Lord to guide her response to the man the next time she see’s him…trusting in God, trusting in His mercy to make all things work for His good. She said that when she departed from the shop she heard a voice saying in her heart, “Don’t toss your pearls to the swine…”. She said she will continue to pray God’s will be done, resist judging the man or being angry, to know that God’s generosity can not be outdone or ever a disappointment. Sharing the Works of Mercy are always God’s love in action, no matter the circumstances…
