The 14th Work of Mercy is so powerful!

Did you know that having a Catholic Mass “offered” for someone who is grieving the loss of a loved one is a beautiful example of the 14th Work of Mercy, Praying for the Living and the Dead?

Any individual may ask a Priest to offer a Mass for several reasons: for exam please, one of our UPRISE commitment-makers has recently gifted Mass intentions and cards in celebration for the love of a young couple who were just married; for a family member’s birthday, or as it is most common and most frequently done, offered a Mass for the repose of the soul of a loved one who has recently died…our UPRISE folks listen for when someone in their family, friends, or parish has died and they make it part of their Catholic generosity practices to have a mass said in their honor!

Prayers of intercession to our Blessed Mother, and prayers directly to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, are some of the best ways to be generous to God and our neighbors - Your prayers, too, will be answered!

Sending a Mass Intention Card from your local parish can bring such consolation to those grieving the loss of a loved one.
